Bresse farm

The farm of Plannons was inhabited from 1490 to 1992 and operated until 1984. The field consists of five body building and a park of 20 hectares in the heart of the bocage bressan. Bresse farm is typical of the natural region of Bresse. This type of rural habitat is characterized by the length of the farmhouse. They were constructed of bricks and wood, the oldest also used the Pisa (mudbrick construction) as building material.

The Museum's collections

The Museum of the Bresse is installed on 3'000 m2 of exhibition. The collections are a characteristic set of jewelry in bressans enamels, caps, hats, shoes, bressan furniture and musical instruments.

La Bresse is a gourmet tradition since the end of the XVIIIth century. The Museum also has collections on the topic of the power supply (menus, placemats, illuminated painted eggs, pots, jugs, etc.).

The site of the farm of Plannons offers an attractive museography alternating the rigour of scientific analysis, the poetry of images and valuable evidence on objects. The Museum received the award of the European Museum of the year in 2007 and the label 'Remarkable Architecture in Europe in 2011.
