Cannes, the capital of cinema

Star of the French Riviera, Cannes Film Festival is a world event. In may, the film professionals, international stars and the world press invest the Croisette.

Brief summary of history

Originally Cannes is a small Mediterranean village of fishers and monks. The Musée de la Castre and its square tower are located on the heights of le Suquet, the historic district of Cannes. The Museum of the sea
The Musée de la Mer occupies the oldest part of the Royal Fort of the île Sainte-Marguerite in the harbour of Cannes. You can discover the State prison and the cell of the iron mask, where the mysterious prisoner was imprisoned for eleven years.

Pablo Picasso in Cannes

California is a villa built in 1920. This sumptuous building style 1900 with views over the sea has been the residence of Pablo Picasso from 1955 to 1961. The painter has made many major works as the Las Meninas series. In 1958 he painted "La Baie de Cannes" where he represents the seascape strangled by urban.
