The village of Eze

The village of Eze is an extraordinary site. It evokes the image of an Eagle's nest overlooking the sea of 427 metres. The old village has retained a beautiful architectural unity around a strong medieval fortress and the baroque church Notre-Dame-de-L'Assomption.

The baroque church Notre-Dame - de - L'Assomption

The church Our Lady of the assumption of Eze is a neoclassical 18th century Church. The Church was rebuilt to replace the previous which fell into ruin between 1764 and 1778. The Bell Tower was built in the 19th century. It was repeatedly struck by lightning that has done away with the original dome. The blue color of the dial of the clock is that of the Virgin.

The exotic garden of Eze

The garden of Eze is renowned for its impressive collection of cacti and Succulents. It is located on a steep 400 metres above the level of the sea with panoramic views of the entire region.

The path of Nietzsche

Nietzsche path part of the waterfront and meanders on a steep slope to the village of Eze. It is said that Nietzsche who lived at the end of his life in Nice, attended this path. He was inspired to write the third part "of thus spoke Zarathustra. It takes 50 minutes in the down direction and 1 h 30 in the direction of the rise.
