To the IX ^E century, the Slavic Eastern ones undergo the infiltration of navigators Vikings, Varègues, who assert themselves little by little by the trade and the weapons.

Raising tribute on the cities Slavic - Novgorod, Smolensk, Kiev - or employed by them as mercenaries, Varègues end up establishing a dynasty of warlike princes on all the country: Riourik gathers the grounds of North, around Novgorod, into 862; its successor, Oleg the Wise one, annexes the South, seizes the town of Kiev and founds a first State into 882 there.

The historians discuss on the fact of knowing if they are the Norman ones which gave their first official structure to the Russians - which would have, according to medieval sources which make the panegyric of the dynasty riourikide, launched a “call to Varègues” into 862 - or if there existed already, at the Slavic Eastern ones, of the developed forms of sociopolitic organization. Always it is that at the end of the IX ^E century sets up, around Kiev, a State called Rous.
