Three millenia of history
The Egyptian Empire is a single example in the history of humanity. It is the first of the great empires born on banks of the Mediterranean and is also that which lasts longest: three millenia.
History of Egypt
It is divided into three distinct times (consult the file during the time “Antiquity):
Ancient Empire
Founded towards 3200 before J. - C. Pharaons, such Khéops, Khéphren and Mykérinos, set up imposing pyramids.
Average Empire
From 2052 to 1770 before J. - C. Egypt extends its power. Under the New Empire (1580-1085 before J. - C.), Egypt is more powerful than ever with the dynasty of Ramsès. The Pharaons conquer Syria-Palestine.
The Low Time
Little by little the Empire falls to the hands from the Assyrians, Persians, the Greeks, then Romans, at the 1st century before J. - C. Finally the Arabs conquered Egypt from 639 to 642.
