King of the Francs (879-882).

Son and successor of Louis II the Stammerer, it divided the crown with his Carloman brother, who only reigned from 882 to 884 and with which it had already yielded Aquitaine and Burgundy.

He still yielded to Louis the Young person of Germanic the totality of Lotharingie, but gained over Norman the victory of Saucourt (881).
